Jason Blackham, M.D.
Sports Medicine Physician
Dr. Jason Blackham is a dual board-certified Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine physician joining the Sports Medicine team at Inland Orthopaedics. He brings in 19 years of practical experience and has previously worked as a team physician for high school and university student-athletes. He was one of six physicians to serve on the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s medical team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He currently travels as a team physician for U.S. Ski and Snowboard. Dr. Blackham sees WSU collegiate athletes on campus as well as patients of all ages at Inland Orthopaedics in Moscow and Pullman and in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Blackham's combined training in Internal Medicine with Sports Medicine helps him have a better breadth of cardiology and pulmonology care knowledge that can provide further specialized care. He takes pride in his thoroughness as a physician and in his ability to get to know his patients on a personal level to understand their goals for care. He also finds fulfillment in volunteering in his local community to help athletes of all ages achieve their ambitions and is inspired by Inland Orthopaedics’ culture of teamwork.
Dr. Blackham is from Ogden, UT and spends his free time outdoors fly-fishing, running, biking, and camping. Athletics has always been a shared passion for him and his family; his wife, Merrilee Blackham, competed in two U.S. Olympic marathon trials. He currently lives in Pullman with Merrilee and their youngest son, where they enjoy spending time together running, playing music, skiing in winter, and making the most of the outdoors.
